Wittenborg Now Proud Member of Council for Hospitality Management Education

Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences is proud to announce its membership to the Council for Hospitality Management Education (CHME) - a non-profit organisation representing the UK, European and international universities and colleges offering higher education programmes in the fields of hospitality studies, hospitality management, and related fields.

Wittenborg President Peter Birdsall said CHME is a research group within the hospitality and tourism sector with a strong academic focus. Wittenborg is also a member of EuroCHRIE, the European chapter of a global network organisation which supports education and training for the hospitality sector and works closely with industry representatives.

CHME also contributes to the professional development and status of hospitality management education through the sharing of best practice in scholarship and pedagogy. Its aims include promoting and disseminating research and scholarship which informs and enhances curriculum development and approaches to learning, teaching and assessment.

Its annual research conference provides a valuable platform for new and more mature researchers and attracts delegates from across the world. Topics and subjects presented include consumer studies, food and beverage, gastronomy, hospitality, leisure and tourism studies and other relevant areas.

Like EuroCHRIE, CHME also promotes effective and beneficial links between the hospitality industry and education.
