Wittenborg had one of its highest 4th quarter intakes this week with more than 50 new students who started their classes on Monday (Block 2), after participating in Introduction Week activities over the past few days.
Wittenborg registrar, Santosh Aryal, said there has also been a 17% increase in Dutch students compared to this time last year, with more expected in the last quarter of the calendar year. “This is due partly to the many different education fairs Wittenborg has attended the past year in many parts of the Netherlands, which are usually well-attended by Dutch students.”
Wittenborg’s other campuses, in Amsterdam and Vienna, have also seen some growth.
The new students are from at least 26 countries. These include Canada, Italy, China, Vietnam, Iran, Indonesia, Romania, Nigeria, Ghana, India, Luxembourg, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Pakistan, Brazil, Russia, the Netherlands, Mexico, Belarus, Thailand, Norway, Macedonia, Cameroon, Bulgaria, Greece and Egypt.
On Thursday, the new students were welcomed over lunch by the chair of the executive board, Peter Birdsall. He spent some time informing them about Wittenborg’s upcoming 30th anniversary Gala on 10 November, and what they could do to get involved, while at the same time celebrating their own countries by showing off their traditional attires.
Mr Birdsall said: “It will be fun to be involved in a celebration of Wittenborg’s international character, especially as it coincides with the launch of the Week of the International Student.”
