Andrew Emil Shares Expertise and Insights with Wittenborg Students
With the goal of providing Wittenborg Marketing, Communication and Information students with new perspectives and insights into professional life, Communication lecturer Fjorentina Muco organised a guest lecture with Cummins Hydrogen’s global sales director, Andrew Emil.
Titled “Building a Successful Sales Organisation”, the activity centred on how professionals can think about customers and who to prioritise strategically. The session took place on 17 November and was attended by 11 students, who took the opportunity to ask a variety of questions.
Emil, who is responsible for Cummins Hydrogen’s overall sales results as well as scaling the company’s business, gave several tips on how students can develop their careers.
“Internships and work experiences are valuable ways to gain practical knowledge. Besides, professionals can learn a lot by making use of sources such as the internet and online experts. It is also important to be interested in human psychology and cultivate personality traits, such as being self-motivated, ambitious and competitive. All those characteristics can be developed,” he said.
According to Muco, the purpose of the activity was to put students in contact with a highly experienced sales professional who could share the expertise obtained at a well-known, international organisation. “As lecturers, we provide students with theoretical knowledge, but it is important that they also get a real-life perspective, so that they have a clear and complete understanding of their field of activity,” she said.
