EuroCHRIE Apeldoorn 2022 Launches Official Newsletter
Conference to Be Hosted by Wittenborg in October
With less than nine months to go until the start of EuroCHRIE Apeldoorn 2022, the conference now has an official newsletter that features plenty of information for students, educators, researchers and professionals from the tourism, hospitality and events industry (click here to subscribe). Hosted by Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences, the event will be held between 24 and 27 October, 2022, with the theme “Thrive on Innovation and Entrepreneurship”.
The first edition of the monthly newsletter includes details on the event’s call for papers and website, tips on how to get from Schiphol Airport to Apeldoorn, key draft dates and information for international organisations interested in sponsoring the conference, among other topics.
In addition, there is a special message from Wittenborg CEO Maggie Feng, who is also EuroCHRIE’s Director of Conferences, and a text by EuroCHRIE’s Director of Research, Dr Danny Han, inviting researchers and professionals to join the conference’s Board of Reviewers. The full content of the first newsletter can be found on this link.
Preparations
According to Wittenborg’s EU project coordinator and EuroCHRIE’s project manager, Aydan Ismayilova, the preparations for the event are going well and all the organisational aspects are being finalised. She highlighted that the conference venue, academic and social programmes are in place, and the team is also preparing interesting activities for participants to learn more about the hospitality sector in Apeldoorn.
“We expect around 200 delegates from over 50 countries, and that will give great exposure to Apeldoorn and provide networking opportunities with hospitality and tourism professionals as well as the academic community. On top of that, our hospitality students will also have a chance to gain hands-on experience by being part of the conference delivery team,” Ismayilova said.
Activities
EuroCHRIE’s call for papers, posters and proposals for workshops and symposiums is open until 20 March. Detailed information, including the submission guidelines, can be found here.
The event will be centred on the future of education and industries in the hospitality & tourism, events management and culinary arts sectors. Among other topics, the presentations, symposiums and workshops will discuss data security, robotics, self-service, artificial intelligence, block-chain, social innovation and the changes caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
EuroCHRIE 2022 will take place at the Aventus Building, in Apeldoorn, but key activities will also be livestreamed. Apart from academic events, the schedule includes social and touristic activities, such as the gala dinner and day tours.
Wittenborg associate professor Vanessa Menezes, who is a member of EuroCHRIE’s Scientific Committee, said that she has been regularly attending the conference since 2013, when it was held in Freiburg, Germany. “It is a great opportunity to see what researchers from the whole world have been working on as well as to share your own work with them,” Menezes stressed.
