Wittenborg student is "Study in Holland" new student Ambassador

Wittenborg student, Romeissa Laib, has been granted the opportunity to act as a student ambassador at Study in Holland, starting 5-12 September of this year. The 22-year-old Algerian student, who moved to the Netherlands in 2017 to start her studies at Wittenborg in Marketing & Communication, shared with enthusiasm how she came upon this opportunity, and what she will be working on.

How did you come across such an opportunity?
According to Romeissa, the information about being an ambassador for Study in Holland, was shared on Wittenborg's social media channels, and it caught her eye. She was attracted to the idea because it will challenge her to be creative, and to do so independently. Laib also commented that this is a great opportunity to gain experience in the field of marketing – a programme she is currently studying at Wittenborg, and is passionate about.

What will you be focusing on, specifically, and what do you hope to achieve?
Enthusiastically, Romeissa responded, that she wants to convey how Apeldoorn, home of Wittenborg's main campus, is an attractive city to study in. There are many misconceptions about the city, and she would like to rectify that by showing prospective students what a beautiful city Apeldoorn is! She will also focus on promoting Wittenborg by utilising its resources, student interaction in the classroom, and so forth.  

According to her, "In my initial planning, I have chosen the first week of studies, to benefit from the introduction phase of all new students and to share the following with the Study in Holland network". With the content created she plans to share information on the Study in Holland Instagram and Facebook channels.  

What are your plans after that?
Romeissa commented that when she has completed this project she intends to jump right into searching for an internship, which is due to start in June 2019. She said, "I like to challenge myself and get out of my comfort zone, therefore, I will be looking at places like Singapore or Beijing."

Prior to moving to the Netherlands, Romeissa lived in several countries, and considers herself a multi-cultural person. She joined Wittenborg because of the multi-culturalism it promotes, and by participating in this project as ambassador, she hopes to demonstrate precisely this for prospective students.
