As part of the official programme of the European Sales Competition (ESC), successfully hosted by Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences from 31 May to 2 June, Wittenborg Research Centre presented an information and networking workshop for the team coaches (teachers) on 1 June in the Brinklaan building, Apeldoorn, during Day 2 of the ESC activities.
The aim of the workshop was to give visiting national and international sales competition coaches, teachers and academics the opportunity to learn more about the applied research capacity of Wittenborg and also to provide an opportunity for participants to network and connect with each other.
The workshop was opened by Wittenborg CEO Maggie Feng, who introduced the panel of speakers and gave some background about the mission of Wittenborg and its values of internationalisation, diversity and ethics.
Next, Wittenborg’s Vice President of Applied Research, Prof. Dr Ad Kil, gave a thought-provoking presentation on the applied research strategy at Wittenborg. He outlined the fundamentals of effective research methodology and made important connections to sales research and development. His presentation also combined elements of Dutch culture, which was of particular interest to the international audience.
Dr Rauf Abdul, Head of Business School, led an interactive discussion with the audience on international research collaboration, including the operation and formation of research hubs both in the Netherlands and internationally, for the benefit of students and researchers alike.
Aydan Holtrigter, EU Project Manager and Junior Researcher, was also present at the event to provide information on opportunities for Erasmus+ funded collaboration, such as international project partnerships and staff and student mobility.
On top of the presentations and discussions initiated by the speakers, the workshop participants engaged in productive dialogue on research, networking with local and international colleagues and other professionals participating in the European Sales Competition.
