'Stronger in 3D': Stedendriehoek's New Regional Deal has been submitted

In a strategic move to strengthen broad prosperity across the Netherlands, the government has intensified its commitment to close cooperation with various regions. Against this backdrop, Regio Stedendriehoek took a significant step by submitting a new Regional Deal ('Regio Deal') on 31 October.

The Regional Deal, a collaborative initiative between the government and regional stakeholders, plays a pivotal role in addressing multifaceted challenges that span education, employment, energy transition, regional development and safety. By fostering partnerships and facilitating new coalitions, the Regional Deal aims to amplify existing efforts and spark innovative solutions to enhance overall well-being.

Regio Stedendriehoek, comprising Apeldoorn, Brummen, Deventer, Epe, Heerde, Lochem, Voorst, and Zutphen, submitted its latest proposal as part of the ongoing effort to align regional and national goals and drive positive change. The proposed deal reflects a comprehensive approach encapsulated in the theme 'Sterker in 3D', 'stronger in 3D', where sustainability, diversity and proximity take centre stage.

Drawing inspiration from the success of past collaborations, including the Cleantech Regional Deal initiated in February 2020, Regio Stedendriehoek's proposal envisions a transformative impact. As the proposal enters the evaluation phase, Regio Stedendriehoek encourages active engagement and support from stakeholders, emphasising the deal's significance for residents, businesses and educational institutions.

Wittenborg CEO, Maggie Feng, a member of the Strategic Board of the Stedendriehoek, expresses Wittenborg's support for the new deal.

Feng underscores the growing importance of the region, which is progressing steadily toward a population milestone of half a million, employing 250 thousand workers and hosting 50,000 companies.
