On 26 January, Wittenborg President Peter Birdsall attended a special New Year's reception in Bad Vöslau, Austria, hosted by long-standing partner the International College of Tourism and Management (ITM). The event showcased the institution's unwavering commitment to international education.

Every year, ITM hosts its annual New Year's Reception where students take charge of preparing the food and providing entertainment. The guest list includes businesses supporting the school, municipal representatives—including the mayor—and education partners.

This year, students organised the event, taking attendees on a culinary journey around the world, presenting delicious food from their home countries, and moderating an exciting programme.

Education partners from Qatar and the United States also virtually attended the event, participating on-screen to celebrate the international atmosphere.

"The students provided an evening of fun with quizzes focused on international questions, particularly geography. Additionally, some students showcased their musical talents," explained Birdsall, who attended the event with Wittenborg Sales Representative, Michael Sheppard, and Dr Alexander Bauer, a Wittenborg faculty member based in Vienna, Austria.

Birdsall highlighted that ITM is an extraordinary example of international education in the heart of a region renowned for its thermal baths, viniculture and mineral water.

"Although small, with around 40 students studying tourism and management in an associate degree programme (called Kolleg in Austria), ITM proudly represents over 20 nationalities from around the world. Wittenborg has collaborated with ITM for the past six years, offering parts of its bachelor's programme. Currently, Wittenborg is actively supporting ITM in accrediting new undergraduate and postgraduate programmes."
