Nikita Pahwa Discusses Surveys and Quantitative Research with University of Technology and Applied Sciences
In line with Wittenborg’s focus on internationalisation, Assistant Professor Nikita Pahwa recently led an online workshop on Survey Methodology in Quantitative Research for a group of faculty members from the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Muscat, Oman.
The activity covered key areas including data measurement, operationalisation, sampling techniques, population and the crafting of a robust Research Methodology section.
According to Pahwa, the workshop had a significant impact on participants by equipping them with practical knowledge and techniques that they can directly integrate into their teaching of research methods. “The faculty members gained a deeper understanding of essential survey research concepts, which will enhance their ability to guide students through the complexities of designing and executing quantitative research projects. This, in turn, will empower students with the tools and techniques necessary for successful quantitative research in their academic and professional pursuits,” she said.
The Assistant Professor adds that the activity was also beneficial for lecturers aspiring to publish research studies or pursue a doctoral degree. “For lecturers aiming for a doctorate, mastering these skills is critical in elevating their research profile and ensuring they are well equipped to make meaningful contributions to their field,” Pahwa stressed.
She concludes by pointing out that this knowledge is likely to boost the overall research output at the institution, with collaborative projects between lecturers and students becoming more robust and publication ready. “The application of these techniques fosters a more rigorous and systematic approach to academic work.”
