At Wittenborg there are six moments a year for undergraduate students to start their programme, and of course 6 moments for them to graduate. Block 1 saw 4 graduates receive their degrees. Ester van de Bunt, Maliga Masilamani, Matthew van Piggelen, and Saeed Ahmed all graduated after 3 to 4 years study and received the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA).
Maliga, from Sri Lanka started her studies in 2008 and will now start her Search Year as a Knowledge Migrant. She is looking forward to helping out during the Wittenborg 25 Gala evening on the 9th November! |
Ester, from Hengelo in the Netherlands, completed her work experience and research project in Kenya. Her parents were present at the graduation ceremony, whom she thanked for their support. “I started and stopped a number of studies before starting at Wittenborg. With the help and support of my parents, coupled with the unique opportunities that Wittenborg presents students to support them through to graduation I am here today receiving my degree. Wittenborg has changed a lot during the past 4 years, improving its quality, its teachers and its programmes. I almost wish I was starting my studies now!” She added with a laugh. |
Matthew is from the Netherlands but has strong ties with Indonesia, where he completed his work placement period and started his research for the graduation project. He even speaks fluent Bahasa, which will serve him well, as now that he has graduated he is planning to travel to the Indonesian island of Bali, where he has been offered a position working for an engineering company based there! He will join a tradition of Wittenborg’s Dutch students who go to south east Asia to work after graduation. |
Saeed started his studies in 2007, and although was often confronted with serious health issues during his period at Wittenborg, he completed his programme with the support and coaching of his tutors – “thanks to my teachers and the management at Wittenborg I persevered and have now achieved my degree”. Saeed started his studies in the old campus in Deventer, moving with the school to Apeldoorn in 2010. |
