Wittenborg University received a visit from representatives of the international Dutch organisation Nuffic this week smoothing the way for enhanced information exchange and cooperation on international education between the two organisations in the future.
Nuffic is the Netherlands Organization for international cooperation in higher education. The three representatives were received by Wittenborg directors Peter Birdsall and Maggie Feng as well as the university’s human resource manager and policy advisor, Karen Penninga.
The visitors were impressed by the wide range of nationalities, which includes 15 from Africa alone, Wittenborg manages to draw despite being a small, private institute. They were also interested in how the university developed from its roots of catering primarily for Dutch students before 2008 to a fully-fledged international institutes with partners in a number of countries such as the University of Brighton in the UK and the ANGELL Academy in Freiburg, Germany.
In the past two months Wittenborg also received visits from both the Dutch prime minister, Mark Rutte, and the minister of higher education, Jet Bussemaker.
